Why APPI:  When Arkansas Mill Supply Company in Texarkana was asked to provide a solution for staging a large heat exchanger for service by DOMLAR for their Ashdown Mill paper plant, Braden Fyffe from A.M.S.C. contacted us for assistance.

To meet their needs we provided a Columbia AC electric maintenance winch with a maximum line pull of 30,000 lbs., a 16” diameter vertical lead sheave and two wire rope assemblies.

In use, the winch pulls the heat exchange out for service using one of the wire rope assemblies in a straight line from its working position. When servicing is complete, the second line, which is rigged through the vertical lead sheave to provide a change of direction, is attached to the winch and the heat exchanger is pulled back to its working position.
