Why APPI: A remote location on the water with a steel gangway as the single-entry point means the gangway hoist has to be as reliable as the timing of the tides that run past it.
Originally equipped with a manual hoist, the upgrade to one of our HF3500 AC electric hoists was made to eliminate the tedious task of raising the gangway by hand while increasing security at the site by including remote radio controls for the hoist. In addition to the radio controls for the gangway hoist there is a local control panel with UP/DOWN momentary contact buttons and an emergency stop button.
Installed by Doug Mulligan Construction, the compact size and base mounting system on the hoist made installation straight forward. The high efficiency motor and planetary gear reduction allow for maximum performance from the limited electrical service available and the permanently lubricated gear train helps to minimize maintenance.
A stainless steel rain cover provided by the contractor and stainless steel wire rope both act to extend the service life of the gangway hoist.
